Weaverville
PTEIR BBW completed all of the work to produce the final program
timberland environmental impact report on the Weaverville, CA Community Fuel
Reduction Plan.
Van Eck Forest and Carbon
Management Under contract with Pacific Forest Trust, BBW conducts all of
the day-to-day management on the 2,200-acre Fred M vanEck Forest property,
located in Fieldbrook and Westhaven, CA. BBW manages the marking and harvest of
about 1 MMBF of redwood timber per year. In addition, BBW foresters work with
the Foundation and PFT to install carbon plots and verify carbon stocks on a
yearly basis.
Weaverville Community Forest Fuel Treatment BBW
has been actively involved in the marking and contract preparation of several
fuel treatments on the Weaverville Community Forest. Most of these treatments
are a thin from below of 10 to 16 diameter trees.
CDF Vegetation
Treatment Program EIR BBW has been working with CALFIRE for the past
five years to jointly prepare an EIR of CALFIRE's Vegetation Treatment Program,
which proposes to treat some 200,000 acres annually on 40 million acres of
private forest and woodlands in California. The draft EIR should be available
approximately June 2012.
Michigan Tribal FMPs In 2011, BBW
Associates prepared Forest Management Plans and associated EAs for the Sault
Tribe of Chippewa Indians in Sault St. Marie, the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe in Mt.
Pleasant, and the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians in Dowagiac, MI.
Manzanita Indian Reservation FMP In 2010-11, BBW Associates
installed a field inventory of tribal forestlands and prepared a Forest
Management Plan and associated EA for the Manzanita Band of Kumeyaay Indians,
in Boulevard, CA. |
Yurok Tribe Tactical
Forest Management Plan BBW is under contract with the Yurok Tribe to
develop a tactical plan to integrate the Tribe's forest management on its three
major properties, its trust lands, the Phase 1 Weitchpec Pecwan Cappell fee
lands and its Cook, Koppala, Gerber, Gleason, & Williams fee
parcels.
Yurok Tribe Carbon Project BBW is working in
conjunction with New Forests which manages investments in sustainable
forestry and associated environmental markets, such as carbon, biodiversity and
water to implement a carbon project on 9,000 acres of fee land owned by the
Yurok Tribe.
BIA Forest Management Plans for 120 Indian Allotments in
California BBW is preparing individual forest management plans for
approximately 120 public domain Indian Allotments scattered throughout
California. To date (December, 2011), BBW has completed about 70 of the
allotment plans and completed the forest inventories for all but five of the
allotments.
Round Valley Forest and Carbon Management BBW is
under contract with the Round Valley Tribes to implement their forest
management plan for the Tribe's trust and allotted lands. In 2007, BBW managed
the marking and sale of about 3.5 MMBF of pine and Douglas-fir from Tribal
Lands. BBW is also working with New Forests and the Tribe to initiate a
carbon project on approximately 5,000 acres of trust lands.
Mattole
Restoration Council PTEIR and PTHPs BBW has just recently completed the
Program Timberland
Environmental Impact Report for MRC's
light touch forestry
program which has been approved by Cal Fire. In addition, BBW is completing
Program THP's for several landowners in the Mattole
watershed.
Morongo Indian Reservation FMP In 2011, BBW
Associates conducted a field inventory of tribal forestlands and prepared a
Forest Management Plan and associated EA for the Morongo Band of Mission
Indians, in Banning, CA. |
